CANYONING
AND ABSEILING ADVENTURES
1. Canyoning Piha NZ$135
The Piha
Canyon... is only forty minutes drive from Auckland in the Waitakere Park Ranges.
Once there, suiting-up in full length wetsuits, harnesses and helmets, start your canyon experience... over the 90 metre cascading Kitekite Falls; abseiling under
showering waterfalls separated by tranquil pools of blues and greens. Jumps, caves and slides
will be your means to explore a canyon rich with the historic pioneering logging dams of 100
years ago!
Trip includes transport, lunch and refreshments and
all equipment.
2. Night Canyoning
NZ$135
Sunset on the beach or up Lion Rock will be our welcome at Piha Beach. Later, fully suited up in
wetsuits, harnesses, helmets and headlamps we set off into the bush at night-fall. The sunset
fading we venture into darkness. Abseiling under a waterfall into the canyon you begin your
trip! You and your guide will then explore your way through the narrow canyon including pools,
caves and jumps, illuminated only by your headlamp and the glow worms on the walls.
Completing the canyon we take five minutes with headlamps off surrounded by
glow worm communities we enjoy a hot coffee and roasted marsh mellows. We
depart Auckland 6pm every evening, returning at 11.45pm. Includes transport from Auckland
return, full equipment, munchies and hot drinks in the canyon. |
